This unscheduled yearend job has two purposes:
• Loads the previous year’s balance sheet items ending balance into the new fiscal year with a balance type of NB (Nominal Balance) and accounting period of BB (Beginning Balance)
• Loads year end balances of revenues, expenses actuals and budgets to facilitate reporting project year to date balances. Transactions are loaded with a balance type of CB (Contracts & Grants Beginning Balance) and accounting period of BB.
Entries are summarized by Chart of Accounts code, account number, sub-account number, object code, sub-object code, balance type, and object type. Each combination is considered as a unit of work in the application of the following business rules.
Even though the cumulative balances are called Contract and Grant Beginning Balances any sub-fund can be identified as a project to date reporting sub-fund. Typically, Contracts & Grants and construction projects.
