Speaker Bios

Cassandra Amadio, University Tax

Cassandra Amadio is the University Tax Director at Indiana University. She has been with University Tax Services since 2012 as a Senior Tax Compliance Officer, and now Director. Prior to joining Indiana University, Cassandra worked in both corporate and public accounting in both Tax and Audit functions. She is also a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana and currently pursuing a joint MBA and Master of Science in Strategic Management from the Kelley School of Business. Her responsibilities include maintaining compliance for tax-related issues and developing tax strategies for the University that follow IU policy, IRS, and other regulatory guidance.

Anna Jensen, Financial Policies

Anna Jensen is the Chief Accountant and Managing Director of Financial Management Services at Indiana University. Anna returned to administration in 2013 after teaching accounting full-time at the Kelley School of Business from 2008-2013. She previously served in financial accounting roles at IU from 2000 to 2008, as Director of Auxiliary Accounting, Capital Asset Management, Non-student Accounts Receivable and Student Loans; University Chart Manager; and University Tax Compliance Officer.  

Anna received her B.S. in Business in 1994 and her MBA in 2000. Anna is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Managerial Accountant.

Joy Maddox, Capital Assets

Joy has been the Capital Asset Manager since November 2013.  As fiscal officer for all plant fund accounts, it’s her responsibility to ensure that all transactions involving capital assets are compliant with federal and state regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and university policies.  Her career at Indiana University began in 2010 as a Part-Time Auxiliary Accounting Consultant.  Prior to joining IU, she worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at a local public accounting firm for 10 years.  Joy graduated from Indiana University with degrees from the Kelley School of Business in Accounting, Finance, and Computer Information Systems.

Steve Miller, University Payroll

Steve is the Director of Customer Service, Training, and Payroll Operations within Financial Management Services at Indiana University. He studied chemistry at Purdue University, where he graduated with a BS in 1990. He then moved to Bloomington to study law and business at Indiana University, where he graduated with a JD/MBA in 1994. After joining the Indiana Bar in 1994, Steve worked in a variety of legal and business positions, gaining experience in payroll and benefits, business operations, contracts and transactions, finance, compliance, employment law, and litigation. Before Indiana University hired him in August 2015, Steve most recently worked as the COO of a small Bloomington investment company that focused on software-as-a-service applications.

Tracey Mui, Financial Systems Administration

Tracey is the lead Systems Analyst in the Financial Systems Administration Division of FMS. She oversees the business functionality of the core accounting cycle and its impact on the general ledger and labor ledger; interfaces with enterprise systems (HRMS PeopleSoft, Bursar, Travel, Materials Management, ID Billings, etc.) and banking institutions; and manages roles and permissions in the Kuali Financial System (KFS). Tracey works with the UITS Financial Systems development team and with functional users to ensure the stability and integrity of our accounting system and payment disbursement processes. Tracey has been with FMS since June 2011 and has worked as our Training & Documentation Specialist and Customer Service Manager. Before joining FMS, Tracey worked in the Office of Student Financial Assistance and has several years of experience in the banking industry.

Tracey holds two degrees from Indiana University, including an M.S. in Instructional Systems Technology.

Bill Overman, Chart of Accounts

Bill has worked for Indiana University Financial Management Services in the areas of Capital Asset Management, Auxiliary Accounting Services, and Decision Support and as the Fiscal Officer in the School of Education on the Bloomington campus. He currently works in FMS in the position of Manager of Financial Reporting & University Chart.

He graduated from IU School of Business with a BS in accounting.

Amy Pfaff, Auxiliary Accounting

Amy is the Auxiliary Accounting Manager in Financial Management Services, where she oversees the recharge rate review process and the development of policy and standard operating procedures. After graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Marketing, she moved to Wisconsin and worked for several prominent corporations. Since joining Indiana University in 2006, she has held financial positions in Internal Audit, Campus Facility Services, Parking Services, and School of Medicine. In her free time, Amy can be found on the highway riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Alicia Robertson, University Budgeting

Alicia has worked in the University Budget Office since August 2003 and has been the Associate Director since June, 2014.  A portion of her responsibilities include serving as the lead for the University Budget Construction process, which encompasses the guidelines and instructions.  Her career at Indiana University began in University Human Resources as a Data Analyst and then as Systems Data Analyst for Dean Of The Faculties before moving to the University Budget Office as a Budget Analyst. Prior to joining IU, she was a Budget Analyst for the Department of the Interior.

Alicia has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and has been employed at IU for over 20 years.

Charlie Sinex, Accounts Payable

Charlie serves as the Director of Accounts Payable and Records Management in Financial Management Services at Indiana University. He began his Indiana University career in February 2004 representing Accounts Payable functions in the design, testing and documentation of the EPIC System (Electronic Procurement and invoicing Center), which is the precursor system to KFS PURAP.

Charlie is a past member of the Society of Actuaries and completed his Master of Professional Accountancy degree at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, in May 2007. He also holds a Bachelor Degree in Education from Indiana University. In addition to work and family, his passions include running, motorcycling, bicycling, and indie music.


Ben Rudman, Non-Student Accounts Receivable

Ben Rudman has been Non-Student Accounts Receivable and Crimson Card Manager since November 2018.  He attended the University of Dayton, where he graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance as well as a Master’s of Business Administration with a focus in Accounting.  Prior to joining Indiana University, Ben worked in public accounting for BKD in Bloomington, Indiana in auditing and earned his Certified Public Accountant license.  His responsibilities include oversight of internal controls, compliance with university policy, and establishment of standard operating procedures for both Non-Student Accounts Receivable and Crimson Card.
